What do you do when you're on the query-go-round and in between novels?
Usually I read. Research. Recharge. Get inspired by the brilliance of others.
This time, I am being inspired by the world around me. I am dazzled by the brilliance of the creatures moving through and around my new life. Thought I'd share some of my favorite shots with you.
(Because procrastination is also part of a writer's life, right?)
Here's the lovely, graceful sand hill cranes that meander around our back yard lake:
Luckily for you, these aren't videos. Their calls sound like velociraptors.
Seriously.

Beautiful! And to play a bit of the devil's advocate, I'd venture to suggest that photography is like writing in pictures. While I was moving and remodeling the condo, I was unable to focus on any of my writing projects...but that creative energy was well-channeled into other things. So it never goes to waste, eh?
Writing with light, technically :-)
Yeah, seems painting walls is a good channel, too...lol.
Wonderful photographs. And I'd echo what one of the other comments says. Writing is actually a visual art. The means of expression are visual but the process certainly is. And the experience of reading should be a visual experience as well. I know when I'm reading a very good novel because I can see all the details of the world which is being created ..... Alice
