Strange New World
Because I am still in awe that this is now my life, all I can do is share. And because words escape me, all I can do is take photos:

Hey! We're practically neighbors! Welcome to Florida in the summertime. Glad you're enjoying and swing by NE Florida sometime. I do believe it's the most interesting part of Florida, and damned near the prettiest too (Sarasota winning the beauty pageant).

I love the neighbors, the sights and sounds I remember in the past, and the future yet to come. Keep taking it all in and sharing. A picture is a wordless wonder viewed through the artist's eye, and your photo's bring so much to light. Snap!

In some ways, Christian, it's like we've lived here all our lives so no adjustment is needed...for me, at least. It's more like a remembering. For the kids...their little souls seem to be bursting open here. Everyone is making friends and becoming more of who they are, if that makes sense. :-)
Tia- we're spending quite a bit of time in Sarasota, it's only about twenty minutes from us. It is an amazing place. Ditto on the visit if you venture south!
It sounds wonderful. Particularly the sea. I want to come and visit!

Sorry. Another one from me .... Doesn't really have anything to do with the current post. But you talked earlier about writing The Great American Novel. And I have to say that I loved that. That's why I keep reading about you. I have to say that one of the things that terrifies me about most 'writing related' blogs is the absolute poverty of ambition that most aspiring writers seem to have. Why not decide to write the Great American Novel? Why take words seriously? I love the fact that you're doing that. Alice
Thank you, Alice. It still truly blows me away when someone can connect with or relate to something I say here. I have to admit, I am probably the least confident person you will ever meet, but I do expect alot out of myself...try to figure that one out...LOL.
One of my favorite quotes to live by is from Rand's THE FOUNTAINHEAD: "Show me that it is possible—show me your achievement—and the knowledge will give me the courage for mine."
I think I am more fascinated by human potential than what we actually do. It seems limitless. Maybe that's why my novels always take place in the near future.
